This is the third book in a series but was the first one I’d read. It still reads well and I didn’t feel I’d missed out by not reading the earlier books first. The story is about Dragon shifters. They have a King and sanctuary based in Las Vegas above the ‘Crown Jewel’ casino and the head of security is Darius Dachien, a Russian Ice Dragon. Darius has met his mate – Mei Chen – but she has been giving him the cold shoulder treatment for years now and, without his mate, his dragon is fading fast. Neither can deny their chemistry but Mei has a past she’s reluctant to share until dragons from her past let her know they are coming to visit. Will she let Darius in and warn him what is to come or will she try to disappear again? What are the visitors really after? You’ll just have to read the book to find out!

I enjoyed the different characters in this story, though I felt like shaking Mei at times for her stupidity! The author takes the reader on adventures under water and up in the air, sharing the indecisive, conflicting emotions experienced by characters and drawing the reader in to empathise with them.

Thanks to the author and publishers for enabling me to read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, my honest review.
