Ashlynne and Lorenzo di Grechi divorced five years ago after she had a miscarriage and learnt he was having an affair with his PA, Claudia. They haven’t seen or spoken to each other since until snow grounds Ashlynne’s  flight in Venice and he sees her in the airport terminal. He invites her to stay with him in his palazzo apartment until flights are again available. The apartment is the one they used to share, but though many things have changed now their mutual attraction is still potent. Will Christmas rekindle their love? Can they learn to be honest and trust each other? Have they changed enough to let them have a future together?

This is such an emotional roller coaster story, one that pulls the reader in to the trauma and angst of the couple and make this a great book. Their pain at losing each other is dramatically portrayed. The setting is obviously the fantastic romantic city of Venice but the author has researched and found out about the less touristic aspects of living there and shares these in a caring manner that just enhances the story. I also loved the link back to Marietta and Bramble House which appear in other books in this series, too!

A sweet, second chance romance that takes the reader on an emotional journey to a happy ending. I highly recommend this great read.

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read a sample of this book in exchange for an honest review.
