Love, Lies and Louboutins by Katie Oliver

I really enjoyed the first book in this series – ‘And the Bride Wore Prada’ – in which Gemma married her rockstar husband. Now she is finding it difficult to trust him and is very worried about his relationship with a female rock singer with whom he’s recorded a successful duet. Why is he jetting off without his wife and why won’t he explain what is happening? When others start making unwanted suggestions her suspicions are fuelled but the truth is much more complicated than she’d ever imagined!

So, I was looking forward to reading this sequel – and I wasn’t disappointed! Katie Oliver writes a brilliant story, blending mystery, rock idols, murder, kidnapping, extortion, arms dealing gangs and, of course, romance into an exhilarating concoction to delight her readers. Whilst it was great to reconnect with many of the characters from the first book, I don’t think it is essential to have read that to enjoy this one, though it may help understand more about Gemma’s relationship to many of the other characters.

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.

If you enjoy stories like this, you may also be interested in the first book in this series, ‘And the Bride Wore Prada’ which I reviewed here earlier.
