I really enjoyed this new YA Fantasy!

Fen’s mother kept them  moving, never settling anywhere for very long but never explaining why they did so. When her mother dies, Fen has to start living on her own and she’s made a good start by getting a job in a bookstore and finding a place to live. However, at the end of a working day a gorgeous stranger gives Fen the choice of either being shot or taking some tablets, all the while keeping a gun pointed at her, he means business! She is unexpectedly rescued by a different teenage boy who calls himself Luke and his older brother Kaio who whisk her away. That when her life changes forever! Who are these brothers? Can she trust them? Why did the stranger want to kill her? What on earth is going on? The answers are more bizarre than she could ever have dreamed!

With well written characters, the story is fast paced and engaging. It is great to learn about her past, people, magic skills and qualms alongside Fen. This is a delightful story that will appeal to fantasy lovers of all ages, young adults and adults alike. I can’t wait to read the next book in this superb new series and highly recommend this as a brilliant, inspired start to it.

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.
