After losing her job, Vanessa Hewitt visited her local bar (she lives in an apartment above it, it is that local!). Here she chats with her friend, the owner, before taking a stroll to the viewpoint on a nearby bridge. She decides to sit on the bridge and reflect on her life. That’s when John suddenly shouts out to her. He had been in the bar and didn’t like her going off on her own. He thinks she’s about to commit suicide so comes to rescue her! The chemistry between them is extremely volatile, there’s an instant reaction and definite attraction – so much so that, even though he admits he’s leaving town in the morning, they spend the night together, her first one-night stand. In the morning, he’s gone but definitely not forgotten. When he returns three months later the attractions still there but now there are other considerations – like her best friend, his sister, being locked in a store room and deciding whether or not to take a chance on love!

This is a fun, funny, quick read with great characters and a fantastic plot. I really enjoyed it!

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
