The Highlander’s Choice by Callie Hutton

Title: The Highlander’s Choice (Marriage Mart Mayhem #5)The Highlanders choice

Author: Callie Hutton

Publisher: Entangled Scandalous, Entangled Publishing

Published: July 14th, 2015

Rating: 4.5/5

This is the fifth book in the series but it is certainly one that you can enjoy as a standalone without having read any of the others – but be warned, it will tempt you to want to read them all!

In May 1816, Lady Sybil Lacey travelled to Dundas Castle in Scotland with her best friend and bride to be Lady Margaret Somerville. Lady Sybil has very mixed feelings about the approaching marriage. It isn’t that long since the Battle of Culloden and relationships between the English and Scottish (especially Highlanders) aren’t at their best with many antagonistic feelings based on nationality still rampant on both sides. When Lady Sybil meets the handsome giant and best friend of the groom, Laird Liam MacBride, she can’t help just staring at him – talk about instant attraction – wow!! He, however, has been raised to hate the Sassenach princesses and she believes Scottish men to be fierce, whisky drinking louts. Can they overcome their prejudices to give their love a chance?

This is a delectable historic romance with great angst and turmoil, plenty of emotions upsets and dramas, a potential mother-in-law from hell and angry words spoken in haste and repented at leisure. A great read for anyone who likes excellently historical romances with strong, believable characters and well thought out plot with lots of twists and turns.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley too, for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
