Review: Harvest Moon by Lisa Kessler

Title: Harvest Moon Harvest Moon

Author: Lisa Kessler

Publisher: Entangled Select Otherworld, Entangled Publishing

Published: September 28th, 2015

Rating: 5/5

The timing for the release of this superb new novel from Lisa Kessler is spot on – the Harvest Moon for 2015 is the night of September 27th – 28th and it is also a very special one, a Blood Moon, too! Now I’m going to by quite honest and admit to somewhat stalking the author because I really want to know what happens next in this series and count myself lucky to have one of the first ARCs available via Entangled and NetGalley to enable me to read and review this book. Having admitted that, I was given the ARC to read and give an honest review and that’s what I’m going to do.

Dr Jason Ayers is a werewolf and the pack doctor but he’s also been traumatised by his inability to save one pack member, being conned by the organisation Nero which threatens all were creatures and, the latest, his Dad being in a coma after being attacked by someone in Nero. He takes out his frustrations by participating in an underground boxing ring.

Kilani Akamu is may be small in stature but she’s a feisty nurse with a huge presence who really doesn’t trust doctors and is on the run trying to hide from Nero. When the two first meet sparks fly but when they touch Jason discovers that soul mates aren’t just fairy tales. She, however, isn’t a werewolf and as she already distrusts doctors, how will he reveal his secrets and win her love? His problem now is to keep her safe from Nero and himself whilst still endeavouring to convince her to trust and love him. She also has secrets, too, so nothing will be simple for these two!

I am so impressed with how the author keeps revealing more of the background information particularly regarding Nero and their operatives as well as the Pack. Events from earlier stories in the series are given further kudos as more is disclosed and unexpected links developed. I really enjoy the author’s writing style, she paints paint fantastic pictures in the imaginations of her readers with excellent writing, superb plots and carefully crafted text. I’m already looking out for more details concerning when the next book in the series, ‘Ice Moon’ will be released and understand that will tell Jared’s story!

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
