Back in March 2015 I was lucky enough to read and review my first novel by this talented author, Untrue Colours. That was a great thriller with romance interwoven in it and, when I found out this book was being released, I jumped at the opportunity to read an ARC of it and I certainly wasn’t disappointed by this new novel!
Many of the characters from the first story appear in this one, though obviously their lives and actions have moved on since then. The hero of the first story was Professor Henry Chilton and it is his half-brother, Simon Dunn, who stars in this latest story. Simon used to work for MI6 but tried to leave after his partner was murdered. Unfortunately for him, you don’t just decide to leave that organisation and he is blackmailed into one more job but with a partner who has never been on a mission before so is certainly not one he’d choose. She’s Cassie Watson, a highly intelligent, tall, blonde, vegan pacifist and expert on robotics and computers. With their lives on the line, this is going to be a job they aren’t guaranteed to survive. . . .
This is another fast paced thriller by a highly talented writer. It has strong, well portrayed characters, a complex enthralling plot and is a difficult to put down read. If you enjoy your thrillers to have double dealing spies, horrendous mobsters and just a touch of romance, this is definitely a great book for you! As with True Colours, I highly recommend this brilliant, fast paced, thrilling book and will certainly be looking out for others by this author in future!
Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.
