Title: Snowflakes on Silver Cove, White Cliff Bay #2
Author: Holly Martin
Published: October 30th, 2015
There are few writers that I can almost guarantee will have me laughing out loud and sharing excerpts from their stories with my family, and Holly Martin is one of those highly talented select few. She’s also one of the few authors that can have my husband chuckling at the shared excerpts – so much so that he checked to make sure my review shared how entertaining her books are! Her characters, their interactions, mishaps, misunderstandings and antics are so believable I always feel part of the story, laughing, crying, celebrating and commiserating with them as the story progresses. As the cover states – this is a genuinely brilliant ‘festive, feel good Christmas romance’, one I don’t hesitate to repeatedly highly recommend.
This is the second story set in the town of White Cliff Bay – the first was ‘Christmas at Lilac Cottage‘ which I also thoroughly enjoyed. Many characters appear in both stories and they also have events in common. This story has two couples finding love and their HEAs but only after much angst, turmoil, interfering friends and family and plenty of twists and turns along the way. The community plays a prominent role in the story – the volunteer RNLI crew, the local pub and its regulars, the town hall, book club and gossips all are active participants.
I really enjoy how the reader is drawn into the community spirit and really hope there will be future novels based in this location – I would love to read how things work out for so many of the secondary characters and how things progress for the ‘stars’ of these two highly readable, very entertaining and enthralling novels, both of which I cannot recommend highly enough – they’re simply superb.
Thanks to the Author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
