‘I wish I could live your life. I’d happily swap lives with you.’

’Tis the season to be jolly but for Calvin and Judy the usual festive bickering has already begun! Judy’s convinced that her husband has it easy – no glittery wrapping paper, no playground gossip and absolutely no Christmas baking.

Calvin wishes he could trade in his obnoxious boss and dull nine-to-five job to spend more time kicking back with his kids – how hard can Judy’s life really be?

But after a magical mince pie mix-up, one thing’s for certain – by Christmas Day, life for Judy and Calvin will never be the same again. Perhaps the grass isn’t always greener after all…

My Review:

This is a superbly crafted, humorous and delightful festive read that I highly recommend to everyone with a partner and family – absolutely brilliantly written and enlightening. Ever wished your partner could understand the stress of your life? Well for this couple a wish made over mince pies results in them swapping bodies making this reality in the run up to Christmas – let the humour and understanding commence!

Awakening to find you’ve changed gender and family role overnight would be stressful enough, but add in all the pressures of Christmas approaching and everything that needs sorting ….. What a wake up call!

With a brilliantly portrayed family and community of characters, this shows how easy it is to make assumptions and get into habits that aren’t necessarily for the benefit of everyone in the family – and that, should the opportunity to swap lives actually occur how greater understanding can be developed. The children’s reactions to their parents are so telling, helping the adults realise how their attitudes impact on their offspring. I loved this story! It is a relaxing, easy read filled with light hearted humour and festivities. It is great to see how appreciation for each other and all they do develops through the story. It was great that both Calvin and Judy develop new skills that, without the body swap, they may never have attempted.

This is an incredible festive fun read that has many laugh out loud moments and left me with a big grin on my face, brilliant!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.
