My review:

What an enthralling, action packed novel this is – it has everything from dreadful grief, to an adventure holiday, city to countryside, rescue to kidnapping and danger all interwoven with a beautiful developing love. It is a real page turner, one that I really didn’t want to put down.

There are a full range of brilliantly portrayed characters, from the leading lady, Jamie, a nurse recovering from an abusive relationship and the death of two loved ones in a short space of time to her ex, Derrick, a volatile, abusive and threatening villain. Kevin is a brilliant antithesis to Derrick – a talented musician, a rancher and caring gentleman. The development of the relationship between Jaimie and Kevin is cautious and heartfelt, delightful to read about.

The story is packed with traumatic events which impact on Jaimie and her ability to trust herself to love. My favourite character just has to be Jack, he’s so loyal, loving and, despite initial impressions, a trustworthy friend to Jaimie. Enjoy the whole story as this city girl learns to appreciate the countryside and especially the people who live and work there. The community spirit, support network and caring of the Montana folk make this an endearing read with plenty of edge of your seat moments. The talented author helps paint beautiful images of the people, places and events in the imagination of the reader, keeping them engaged throughout the story and constantly just praying that things will work out well in the end. You’ll just have to read it yourself to see if they do!

The summer after high school graduation, Roni worked two jobs to pay for nursing school. During the midnight shift as a waitress, a charismatic young man at the counter flirted with her for hours as he consumed seven cups of coffee.  Their first date was eventful enough to be a book itself! Thirty-seven years and two kids later, the love story continues. Just like her novels, life can’t be too simple and you must make it an adventurous ride!

Her favorite place to write is in her hammock at their small Michigan cottage where she literally dodges the feeding hummingbirds while being serenaded by the lake’s loons.  Besides writing, she loves Slow Rollin’ in Detroit and the combination of good food, better wine, and dear friends.
