This is a superb, emotively written story that had me crying happy tears in the end!
Khloe’s brother Michael had been killed in a tragic car accident, leaving his family and his best friend, Niall, devastated at losing him. Michael, however is there in the background throughout the story. This is a story that needs reading. It is so fantastically written, filled with emotional turmoil as the characters come to terms with themselves, their dreams and relationships. It is a tumultuous journey that readers will find easy to empathise with because of the brilliantly portrayed scenarios and emotional turmoil.
It is a wonderful read from the start to the very happy yet poignant ending! It has robust, well developed characters, a turbulent plot and some heartbreaking moments without ever being over-sentimental or soppy. It is a very touching, romantic story, with the quiet, shy, nerd being shown the beautiful woman she really is and the hero helping her to do so and, in the process, finding the walls around his heart tumbling down. There are some other amazing secondary characters in the story who merit mentioning – especially Khloe’s best friend and the glam squad, but you need to read it yourself to learn more about them, too.
I have no hesitation at highly recommending this very moving romance!
Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.
Plain-Jane computer programmer Khloe Richardson needs a date—one to make the prince of her dreams jealous. Maybe then he’ll finally see her as a desirable swan and not the ugly duckling in the second office from the left.
But when she bids on a bachelor at a charity auction, the man she wins is millionaire Niall Hunter—who once made intense, passionate love to her and then left without a word. She’s determined not to let her guard down again—among other things—around the infamous Irish lothario.
Niall never imagined his penance for one hot-as-hell night with his best friend’s little sister would be transforming her from a shy wallflower to a sultry siren. Helping her attract another man is torture…especially when he promised his friend he’d stay away. Plus, she wants forever, and he’s not a forever kind of guy. But Niall can’t stop wanting her. Can’t stop touching her. Can’t stop, period. And damn if he can remember why he has to…
