Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!
Title: Destination India
Author: Katy Colins
Publisher: Carina UK
Date of Publication: June 2nd, 2015
This is the sequel to ‘Destination Thailand’ and again concerns Georgia Green who started the Lonely Hearts Travel Club. Unfortunately, the new business and her OCD nature mean that she’s trying to do everything, not working with her business partner and not having a life outside the office. Negative reviews concerning their Indian tours together with a couple bottles of wine and a bottle of rum result in her opting to go on the tour to discover just what is happening . . . Get ready for plenty of laughs, misunderstandings, double dealing and unexpected events as she jets off to explore India!
You really don’t need to have read the first book to appreciate this one, but both are great so I recommend you read them both! Getting to know the characters on the tour and discovering more about Georgia, seeing how she tries to help their guide whilst still attempting to discover the cause of those negative reviews takes you through the full gamut of emotions. Don’t expect a travelogue, though plenty of information is shared in passing throughout the story nor should you expect it all to end on Georgia’s return to England. There’s a new office worker, weird vibes, double dealing treachery and an undercover journalist still to be revealed, their impact explored and relationships to be reconnected and renewed. What a roller coaster ride this novel is, one where you’re never quite certain what calamity is awaiting Georgia and Ben around the next corner. The ending itself is brilliant and much more hopeful – I can’t wait to read what happens in the next book in the series, Destination Chile, which I understand is due to be release in September 2016. The story is a real page turner, a great addition to the series and one I highly recommend – go on your own virtual adventurous journey with ‘Destination India’!
Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this in exchange for my honest review.
