Skeleton Key Book Series

One Skeleton Key. Endless Adventures.

Ava Green has made a name for herself in the real estate world by reconditioning old, historical homes with her partner and friend Jeff. But her newest project, a three-story Victorian in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, promises to be her biggest moneymaker yet. And one she’s undertaking on her own. During her first walk-through of the house, however, she discovers a locked door, and a skeleton key that seems to appear out of nowhere. Unlocking the door, she is transported to a mystical world of fae and mythickal creatures and meets the King of the Morna. The sovereign of the Dark Elves.

King Finn Sylcan has searched for the one who can bring the magick back to his world, Edra, for eons. An old prophecy told of a female of both Dark and Light elven descent, a hybrid both Calim and Morna. It is said she is the only one who can repair the damage the war between the Dark and Light kingdoms caused. But after searching for so long, Finn never dreamed that she’d just show up outside his palace walls. Or that she’d be his mate.

My Review:

This is a delightfully different fantasy adventure with Ava Green, a property renovator, exploring the new house she has purchased without previously visiting. She discovers a locked door and then the key to it. Opening that door opens a portal reminiscent of the wardrobe in the Narnia tales as she is instantaneously transported into a different world where the first person she meets claims to be the King, Flynn Sylcan! Unlike in Narnia, the portal disappears and she has to decide who to trust and how to react.  Flynn also claims her appearance in this mythical world has been foretold and reveals secrets. He claims that her parents were originally from this world and that is just the start of the revelations and discoveries in this novella where light and dark elves are at war and she is prophesied to bring the wars to an end!

With only 75 pages, this is a very quick read but there’s lots packed into those pages making it a quick but very enjoyable novella to escape into. The different areas of this fantasy realm are superbly brought to life in the imagination of the reader. There are more than ‘just’ elves in the realm and it will be interesting to discover if further stories in this series will involve any of the secondary characters from this one – I do hope so!

Many thanks to Barclay Publicity for gifting me an ARC of this novella in exchange  for this, my honest review.
