My Review:
This is another story in the What Happens in Vegas series – and like the others I’ve read, this is a great story that I thoroughly enjoyed. In this case the editor extraordinaire being sought works under the alias of Jocelyn Dellarivier but is, in reality, Jake Blaine, ex cover model and twin brother of an aspiring politician. So far Jake has managed to keep his alter ego totally separate, so much so that even most people he works with don’t realise the editor who helps them create such steamy erotica romances is actually a handsome hunk in his own right. Now, however, his identity is in danger of being discovered by the very determined academic professor, Sadie Quinn, who wishes to meet and interview ‘Jocelyn’ to complete she is writing to guarantee her tenure as professor. With Jake’s boss playing matchmaker and rigging a competition to ensure Jake goes on a date with Sadie will they be able to resist their attraction? Will Jake be able to keep his secret – and if not, what will Sadie’s reaction be?
The citing of quotes throughout the story with other characters endeavouring to identify their source, add to the story and, in many instances, to the humour. A mix of mystery, humour and romance, this is a great read and one that I have no hesitation in highly recommending. These stories are really tempting me to go to one of these conventions myself to check out some of the larger than life characters involved!
Many thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for gifting me an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
Synopsis:
He’s exactly who she’s looking for…she just doesn’t know it yet.
Sadie Quinn is at the romance readers’ convention for one reason only: to find editor Jocelyn Dellarivier. Which she could do if she didn’t keep running into the most frustrating, gorgeous man ever. To make matters worse, she just won a contest and a date with him is the prize.
Jake Blaine could kill his boss for rigging the contest, but now he’s face to face with the one woman who could expose his alter ego. He’s not about to leave, but he can’t tell Sadie he’s the editor she’s looking for. But even though he’s playing with fire, Jake can’t seem to stay away. And after a night with the raven-haired beauty, he’s not sure he wants to…
