My Review:

Right from the start this story is totally engaging and packed with laugh out loud moments! It has great characters and a very feisty female lead in Zoe Cain. Zoe is about to start at Wilton High School, which her older brother, Jack, already attends. The students there tend to be divided into two cliques according to their family background – the snobs or geeks and the hicks or farm kids. Zoe and her brother are in the latter group, they live on a farm with their mother and grandmother. Jack has a habit of annoying Zoe by telling her what to do, or not do, and she annoys him by doing whatever she likes! This makes for a hilarious read right from the start when Jack tells her to keep away from some of the older students so she goes and kisses one of them! Actually the chemistry between Zoe and that student, Grant Eventide, is unexpectedly hot for both of them and so their relationship begins! You’ll have to read it yourself to discover what happens in this story which is packed with rebellion, lots of PDA which earn after school detentions and, of course, teenage angst.

It has a range of great characters, both main characters have their own sidekicks who are also brilliant in their own way – and have a taste of romance of their own. The story is told from alternating points of view, making it easy to understand and relate to the behaviour and attitudes of them both. Zoe is a feisty young lady, determined to not do as her brother wants and to stand up for herself. Grant is from a somewhat dysfunctional family, unused  to visiting the ‘hick’ side of town. Their grandparents are also brilliant characters, too! The bet aspect doesn’t actually play a highly significant role in the story which is a lovely light and very entertaining read.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Zoe Cain knows that Grant Evertide is way out of her league. So naturally, she kisses him. Out of spite. Not only is Grant her brother’s number-one nemesis, but he has zero interest in being tied down to one girl. She’s shocked—and secretly thrilled—when they start spending more time together. Non-exclusively, of course, but that doesn’t mean Zoe can’t change his mind, one PDA and after-school detention at a time.

Zoe’s brother claims Grant is trying to make her his “Ringer,” an oh-so-charming tradition where a popular guy dates a non-popular girl until he hooks up with her, then dumps her. Zoe threatens to neuter Grant with hedge clippers if he’s lying but Grant swears he isn’t trying to trick her. Still, that doesn’t mean Grant is the commitment type—even if winning a bet is on the line.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains multiple PDAs, after-school detentions, and gambling on the side. Warning: betting on a boyfriend is bad for your health.
