Series: Blame it on New York #1
Title: A New York Love Story by Cassie Rocca
Author: Cassie Rocca
Published: October 1st, 2016
Aww – this is a delightful Christmas romance with all the elements you’d expect for such a festive book and a few surprising twists along the way.
Clover O’Brian is a very thoughtful young lady who is also very talented at discovering just the right present to choose for someone they love or care for – so much so that it is now her job. Unfortunately her family are absolutely rubbish at reciprocating, so much so that she provides them with a list of possible presents and never expects any surprises – but get ready for some great changes as she discovers she has a new neighbour. That neighbour is Cade Harrison, he’s a popular actor who is escaping from the paparazzi following a much publicised break up with his actress girlfriend….. Neither are looking for romance but the festivities and fate have plans for these two – and the paparazzi will have a serious role to play in what ensues!
This is a lovely, festive read generously sprinkled with hope, love and dreams. It has laugh out loud scenarios and kept a smile on my face throughout whilst I read it. The different expectations, attitudes and behaviour are really just window dressing and not reality. It as the couple really get to know each other and what they are like behind their public facade that love stands a chance to grow and flourish. This is a fantastic festive read that I have no hesitation in highly recommending.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the publishers, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.
A charming Christmas romance for fans of Meg Cabbot. Will the magic of Christmas be enough to light a spark? Giving a present is not always easy. Clover O’Brian knows that only too well: her job consists of helping people in the arduous task of choosing unusual gifts. Christmas is coming, New York is buzzing, and Clover, who has always loved the festive period, savours the atmosphere. Cade Harrison already has everything in life. A Hollywood actor, he is handsome, rich, famous and popular. Success, however, has its downsides; having just emerged from a disastrous relationship with an actress, he feels a need to hide away in an area unfrequented by stars, in an apartment lent him by a friend, far from prying eyes – especially those of tabloid reporters. But as chance will have it, the apartment in question is right opposite the one occupied by Clover, who until now has seen Hollywood actors only on the big screen. Two quite different lives meet by chance, at the most exhilarating time of year…
