My Review:

Hope is the heroine in this book and boy does she live up to that name! Thirteen years ago her brother, John Moore, was killed in a horrendous crash which also left her with a severely injured leg. That was also when her childhood sweetheart, Daniel Rodriguez, who had been driving the vehicle they were in, stopped seeing her or answering her calls, leaving her heartbroken. Now she’s returning to her hometown of Devil Falls to set up a scholarship for local students in memory of her brother. Reconnecting with friends and families left behind after the tragedy is traumatic, but that has nothing on what it is like to see Daniel again . . . . or to discover six weeks later that she’s pregnant with his child! Can they get over the pain and anguish of the past to make a future for themselves and their child? Is this really a second chance for their romance? Can he get over his self-pity party and give their love a chance?

It was good to revisit couples from the earlier two novels in this series and I still love how Avery just says what she’s thinking, no thought to the consequences! Having said that, I don’t think you need to have read them to enjoy this one. It again lives up to its branding as a Brazen title but has some cute times too with Ollie. There’s a strong plot line throughout the story and great characters making this an enjoyable read but I do wish there had been an epilogue to show how everyone else reacted to that rather abrupt ending, but that’s probably just me! It is also why I dropped the rating slightly – I wanted confirmation that Daniel won’t be running and self pitying again any time soon and to see if/how he won her parents round in the longer term.

This is a quick, steamy second-chance romance and a good addition to the series.

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author, via Barclay PR, in exchange for an honest review.

Synopsis:

It’s been thirteen years since Hope Moore left Devil’s Falls, land of sexy cowboys and bad memories. Back for the weekend, she has no intention of seeing the man she never got over…or the two of them getting down and dirty. It’s just a belated goodbye, right? No harm, no foul.

Until six weeks later, when her pregnancy test comes back positive…

Daniel Rodriguez hasn’t forgiven himself for how things went down with Hope all those years ago. He knows she’s better off without him, but when she shows up on his doorstep, panicking because she’s pregnant with his baby, he can’t help seeing it as a chance to make up for the past.

Too bad Hope has no intention of going along with his plans.
