If you love to read a superb, heart warming festive romance, stop reading this review and get yourself a copy of this book to read instead!
This is the fifth story involving the Sheenan family from Marietta, Montana and a brilliant story. The Daisy in the title is now four years old and has already lost both her parents in a tragic car accident when she was just two years old. Her parents had made their friend and her godfather, Cormac Sheenan, her guardian – much to the dismay of her godmother, his ex-girlfriend, Whitney. Whitney contested the guardianship in court but lost and has seen nothing of him or Daisy in the intervening time. Now she’s moving with his company to Marietta though only till her resignation notice runs out but hopes to see Daisy again whilst they are all there.
Cormac Sheenan is a media mogul who has has adopted Daisy and truly loves her. When a gunman causes a lockdown at Daisy’s kindergarten, Cormac has had enough of city life and plans to move the headquarters of his business to his hometown of Marietta in Montana. On their flight to Marietta the man sat across from them has a long curly white beard, a jovial demeanour and Daisy immediately recognises he is Santa! She goes to ask him for something special for Christmas but won’t tell Cormac just what she wants . . .
This is a moving festive story as the little girl’s godparents reconnect, past events are revisited and love is given a second chance. Just don’t expect anything to go smoothly for these characters – it is only with the intervention of Santa that they’ll ever stand a chance to achieve their HEA!
A lovely addition to the stories set in Marietta, Montana, with events, people and places mentioned in other stories also having roles to play in this one. It is an enthralling, entertaining and well written, fantastic festive read that I loved and have no hesitation in highly recommending to anyone who is looking to read a very moving second chance festive romance.
