Series: The Canadays of Montana ＃3
Title: The Cowgirl’s Christmas Wish
Author: Barbara Ankrum
Publisher: Montana Born, Tule Publishing
Published: October 24th, 2016
This is a festive friends to lovers romance featuring Eve Canaday, an event planner, and Doctor Ben Taylor, a talented orthopaedic surgeon. His dysfunctional family life has convinced him that love and romance aren’t real, instead he has focussed on his career, giving little time for anything else – until a reindeer and a delightful four year old repeatedly interfere with his plans!
A young mother, Patsy, realising she might not live to see her daughter’s next Christmas, has left a series of letters for her husband, each giving him things to do with their daughter as Christmas approaches. Unfortunately, whilst attempting the first task, the father is seriously injured, so he asks his friend, Ben, to look after his daughter and Eve and Ben volunteer to carry on following Patsy’s instructions….. Doing so helps Ben realise that living your life is more important than any career but he’s already planning on leaving to work in Honduras. Is it too late for him and Eve to work a little Christmas magic and find the Miracle of love together.
Emotively written, this is a very moving festive read where things just keep almost working out then something else goes wrong! It links in with event and people from other festive reads by other authors and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them and have no hesitation in highly recommending them to anyone looking for a well written festive romance to escape into.
I was gifted an ARC of this novel via NetGalley with no obligation or requirement to review it. This is my honest review after reading the ARC.
Event planner Eve Canaday and her secret crush, Dr. Ben Tyler, are unexpectedly drafted to help a little girl fulfill her late mother’s wish—a magical Christmas to create some happy memories. Eve sees this opportunity as a sign; Ben, as a glitch in his plan to leave Marietta behind for good.
As the trio checks off the to-do list of Christmas fun, Ben’s ‘bah-humbug’ opinion of the holiday fades, along with ideas about keeping his distance from Eve. Getting involved is the last thing he wants to do but, alas, there’s no accounting for cosmic interference.
With the season of miracles upon this jewel of a town, will Eve find it’s possible that Christmas wishes aren’t only for little girls?
