Title: Italian Millionaire, Runaway Principessa

Author: Sun Chara

Publisher: HarperImpulse/Harper Collins

Published: June 9th, 2017

Genre: sexy, hip ’n fun contemporary romance

Pages: 180

Synopsis:

Tug-a-war between the sexes!

Infamous Italian neurosurgeon, Peter Medeci, has a score to settle with his estranged wife: her reckless bid for independence has nearly destroyed his medical career.

Ellie, desperate to reassert herself as more than his bedroom playmate, flees the ‘fairytale’ for a gig in a Hollywood club until Peter comes looking for her. For her freedom, Ellie must spend the next three weeks being the ‘good doctor’s wife’ in public…and his mistress in private!

My Review:

This is a very different second chance romance. The couple are already married but have split up, reconciled then split up again . . . . He’s Peter Medeci, a highly skilled neurosurgeon who strives to be even more successful. However, in doing so he’s actually in serious danger of losing the woman he loves, his wife Ellie. Talk about not understanding each other and not communicating! The only place the two seem to connect is the bedroom and Ellie is feeling more like a kept woman, like she’s his mistress rather than his wife – that’s one of the reasons she keeps leaving him. He doesn’t understand as he’s working so hard to achieve everything for them both and tries to ensure she has all the material things she could possible want . . . . but that isn’t what she wants. She wants to be able to aspire to achieve her own goals and to be more than his bed mate.

This is a story where the attraction is there but communication is lacking, putting obstacles in the path of romance that, at times, seem unsurmountable. He is wanting to gain a place on the hospital board and demands she play the dutiful wife for just three weeks then he’ll let her go. However, he intends to win her back during that time whilst she hopes she’ll manage to get him to see things from her point of view (even if she doesn’t tell him what that is). There’s plenty of action both in their relationship and in their imaginations. They both come over as well meaning and pleasant people just with serious communication difficulties. The ending ties things up nicely making it a sweet story to escape into for a couple of hours.

I was given a copy of this story without obligation. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.
