From start to finish this is a highly entertaining romantic comedy, a great story to put a smile on your face and have you laughing out loud at some of the scenarios so vividly portrayed in this wonderful romance.

Kassidy works in her family’s florist business as the accountant. She’s just decided she needs to live more and put her past behind her. When she loses a bet with her brother her forfeit is she has to deliver a singing telegram dressed – well almost dressed – as a fairy. There are two problems with this – one is that she is tone deaf and can’t sing, the other is that the costume is very revealing! When the delivery turns out to be to her favourite NFL star, Wyatt Hamilton, she’s beyond embarrassed but that’s just the kick start her decision to take chances needs.

She’s a huge NFL fan, can recite statistics and has a special skill that means Wyatt can use her help with an important matter and so they go on their first date . . . . Wyatt only ever does first dates, never going on second ones as the NFL is the love of his life – or it was until he can’t get Kassidy out of his mind . . . . cue more dates . . .

They’re an unlikely pair and start out as friends before the real drama and dilemmas start. It is a great nerd-girl and hot sports star romance with characters it is easy to relate to and so many humorous interludes you’ll giggle your way through it. There are great secondary characters, too, from Chinese business men she has to put right, to her over protective brother. Wyatt’s grand gesture near the end is brilliant and well worth reading. I enjoyed escaping into this story and highly recommend it. Although it is part of a series, it works well as a standalone.

I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Synopsis

It all started with a bet…

Kassidy Thomas decided to stop hiding behind her past, and start living, but she didn’t quite bet on that start including her singing a horrible song in front of the handsomest bachelor in the NFL, Wyatt Hamilton. She also doesn’t think he’d then consequently ask her out on a date, but turns out when you’re actually living life…crazy things happen.

He needs to win…

Wyatt Hamilton is a player in every sense of the word. Married to the game, he has no interest in relationships, love, or even second nights with the same woman. But from the second the girl-next-door beauty Kassidy knocks on his door to deliver a singing telegram, nothing goes as planned. He can’t stop thinking about her, and keeps showing up on her doorstep for more. That is, until the unthinkable happens…

And all bets are off.
