Valentine’s Day Special! #Review #Romance #Series

I decided to do something different with this post in honour of it also being Valentine’s Day! Hope you’re enjoying your day and might be tempted by at least one of these contemporary romances from Entangled Publishing. I requested and received a copy of them, via NetGalley. They were released at the beginning of this week and I thoroughly enjoyed reading all three of them – read on to find my honest reviews of them and links to sites where you may purchase each of them 🙂

Baby on the Bad Boy’s Doorstep by Victoria James

Returning home from an evening out with friends, Connor O’Leary never dreamt of finding a baby on his doorstep! The note with the baby indicates that the child is the result of a casual hook-up he had and that the mother is abandoning the child with him. He doesn’t know what to do so calls his best friend, Jack Bailey, who immediately comes to help, along with his wife and his sister, Hayley Thomson.

Hayley has escaped an emotional and physically abusive marriage and is staying with her brother and sister-in-law until she can make a fresh start teaching in just a few months time. She offers to be the baby’s nanny and, as they begin to care for Connor’s daughter, so starts a time of healing and development of love for all of them.

Connor also has issues in his past, including never finishing school, which make him reticent to trust in love and relationships. There are barriers to be overcome as well as conflicts and danger ahead for this couple, making this a real page turner. This is a story of healing and growth with great characters and lots of love to help them on their journey to their HEA. I particularly liked that this story helped to show that, regardless of what has happened to you in the past at the behest of others, don’t undervalue yourself, you’re still deserving of love and a family, your own HEA!

Prefer something a little bit steamier? Check out this Indulgence title:

Baby for the Billionaire by Victoria Davies

This is another story where a man discovers he is a father when the child’s mother abandons their baby on his doorstep! In this case the man is Walter Beckett, a billionaire computer guru, who has always avoided long term relationships with anyone except his best friend, Clara Anderson. They met at college, before he became rich, and she’s always honest with him – apart from letting him know she loves him! The friendship between them is sacrosanct for them and both are wary of doing anything to risk spoiling it. Now, however, as she moves in to help with his son, life is changing for all of them – will love find a way to bring them together?

This is a friends to lovers romance where living together encourages them to finally give in to their mutual attraction and so helps them both discover just why previous relationships didn’t work for either of them. There are plenty of twists and turns, angst and turmoil along the way to keep the reader turning those pages.

This is a delightful, well paced story to keep you highly entertained – especially if you also enjoy friends to lovers troupe stories!

Turn the heat up high in this hot, steamy romance!

Playing House by Amy Andrews

This is the fifth story in the Sydney Smoke Rugby series by this talented author. When one of the team players returns home to celebrate his engagement, his younger sister Eleanor is surprised when one of his team mates comes over to talk to her. The attraction is mutual – and highly unusual for the usually staid Eleanor. Eleanor is the quiet one in the family, the one who is enthralled by everything Victorian, from stories to clothing and even etiquette. She’s always said she would save her virginity for the man she’d marry but she can’t resist the opportunity to lose it with Bodie – though he doesn’t know her brother is his team mate! In fact he would never have broken the bro code if he’d known – or would he?

This is a quick but very hot and steamy read. Forget the locker room, there’s enough steam whenever these two get together for other folks to wonder if something is on fire! The two may well be opposites in many ways but the development of their relationship is well portrayed and there are plenty of obstacles in the path of their true love to keep the reader enthralled and turning those pages! With a virtuous wallflower and a rugby playing manwhore, the broken bro code and some unexpected new expectations, this is a lovely addition to this hot series.
