Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!
Series: Anastasia Phoenix #1
Title: Proof of Lies by Diana Rodriguez Wallach
Author: Diana Rodriguez Wallach
Publisher: Entangled Teen, Entangled Publishing
Published: February 19th, 2018
I have to say I’m so impressed by this story – what an enthralling teen suspense and mystery where there are so many lies being told that you’re not quite sure what the truth might be – and even if you really want to know it! Instead of a James Bond type adventure, this one has Anastasia Phoenix as the heroine who has none of his gadgets but still encounters plenty of danger, mystery and suspense. It is the first in a new series and I can’t wait to read more!
Anastasia and her sister, Keira, have never stayed in one place for long, always moving with their parents to new locations often on a different continent or in a different country. The tragic death of both parents leaves Keira to look after her younger sister. However, when Keira disappears, Anastasia is convinced she’s still alive and is determined to find her, little knowing just what this will entail! Get ready for lies and secrets to be uncovered, dramatic encounters with people from her past, journeys from America to various locations in Italy with hints, clues, chases, threats – and potential romance!
This is a fast paced, globe trotting adventure packed with surprises throughout so I didn’t want to put down. Now I can’t wait to read the sequel! I have no hesitation in highly recommending this to anyone who enjoys stories involving spies, mysteries and suspense!
I requested and received a copy of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.
Some secrets are best kept hidden…
Anastasia Phoenix has always been the odd girl out, whether moving from city to international city with her scientist parents or being the black belt who speaks four languages.
And most definitely as the orphan whose sister is missing, presumed dead.
She’s the only one who believes Keira is still alive, and when new evidence surfaces, Anastasia sets out to follow the trail—and lands in the middle of a massive conspiracy. Now she isn’t sure who she can trust. At her side is Marcus, the bad boy with a sexy accent who’s as secretive as she is. He may have followed her to Rome to help, but something about him seems too good to be true.
Nothing is as it appears, and when everything she’s ever known is revealed to be a lie, Anastasia has to believe in one impossibility.
She will find her sister.
