Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!
Series: Love on Chance Avenue #3
Title: Take a Chance on Me
Author: Jane Porter
Publisher: Tule Publishing
Published: March 15th, 2018
Coming from a somewhat dysfunctional family, from the wrong side of town, the Wright sisters are determined, very supportive of each other and their friends and they are determined to make their way in the world. Amanda Wright has put herself at financial risk to help out her parents but is hard working, independent and sassy, striving to make her hair salon a success and to make her other dreams come true. She won’t accept charity and is fuming when she learns that the grandson of her friend and elderly client, Bette Justice, suspects she has been taking advantage of the octogenarian.
The grandson is Tyler Justice and he’s driven into Marietta with the aim of driving out again, as soon as possible, taking his grandmother with him to his home in Austin, Texas, away from any scheming money-grabbing locals. However, his first undercover encounter with Amanda has him reevaluating his thoughts about her, especially as attraction builds between the two. However, historical secrets will be revealed which could tear them apart . . . .
This is another lovely story set in Marietta, Montana. It has great characters – especially Bette! There are a few surprising twists en route, most of them provided by matchmaker Bette. I liked how Tyler’s initial thoughts regarding Marietta had to be revised and the epilogue is lovely! This is an emotional roller coaster ride and a lovely addition to the Marietta based romances.
I requested and received a copy of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.
Savvy stylist Amanda Wright loves Marietta, her hair salon, and her clients, and no client is more dear to her heart than eighty-year-old Bette Justice–even if her years have made her a little fragile. So when Bette asks Amanda to help her convince her determined grandson, Tyler, a successful game designer, that Marietta is the right home for Bette, Amanda can’t say no.
Tyler Justice has a one-track mind–he wants to take care of his beloved grandmother. He can’t understand her resistance to move to Texas and is sure that the young friend she keeps mentioning–Amanda–is taking advantage of his grandmother’s generosity. He reaches Marietta determined to put the salon owner in her place and bring his grandmother home…until smart, kind Amanda starts to tug at his heart in ways he never expected.
But just as Tyler and Amanda start to form a real connection, will a long-buried family secret destroy their chance at love?
