I eagerly anticipated reading this book and I have to say I definitely wasn’t disappointed! This is the sixth book in the series – and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all . . . . mind you, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all the books I’ve read by this highly talented author!
In this story, Tera Muldoon is the Muse of Dance and all the Muses and their guardians agree she is the most likely next target in danger from the vengeful immortal who is trying to end their lives and their dreams. For this reason, Gavin Thompson has been hired to protect her but he is initially totally unaware of the Muses and their guardians or the key role he’s about to play, let alone what his superpower is!
Tera is a talented dancer with a very manipulative and controlling mother. Tera is the quiet, shy Muse, finding it difficult to communicate verbally but once she’s dancing she shines and has no problems being in the spotlight. Her traumatic upbringing has impacted on her behaviour and it is only as she and Gavin connect that she begins to open up with others, not just Gavin. However, the dangers from different quarters are still around and this is another brilliant read, a fantastic romantic suspense involving elements of Greek mythology in a contemporary scenario.
I love how this author manages to interweave the twists and turns of the overarching story into the romantic focus of this one and hint at dilemmas to come in future stories in the series – she did the same in the stories in her amazing paranormal shifters Moon series which I have thoroughly enjoyed both reading and listening to. There is now only Trinity left to meet and acknowledge her Guardian – I suspect there will be fireworks galore in that romance as he’s been working with the enemies – I can’t wait to read it!! I have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending this – and all the other books I’ve read by this author!
I requested and was given an ecopy of this book. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.
Synopsis:
He’s willing to lay down his life, to save hers…
Tera Muldoon not only runs her own dance studio, but she’s also secretly the human vessel for the Muse of Dance. Having her name at the top of an immortal’s hitlist isn’t helping her social anxiety issues, but everything changes the day she hires a bodyguard.
Gavin Thompson is the best at what he does, and when his security company is hired to protect a dance instructor, he thinks it’s business as usual. But no one warned him being with Tera would blur the lines between personal and professional interests. What started out as a job might be his only chance at a future he never dreamed possible.
They just need to live to see it.
The Prophecy – “Every generation the nine daughters of Zeus are reborn, and with their rebirth are also nine Guardians. They will be marked by the gods, and given gifts to protect his treasure. Their abilities will only be unlocked when they find their muse.”

Great review Elaine. It sounds like a wonderful series, but I am not going to start reading in the middle of a series. If I have time to go back to the beginning, I might just do that. I have not read anything by this author, so i guess I should check her out.

It is a superb series IMHO – I can’t wait for the next one to be released! I do recommend reading them in order though and wouldn’t dream of suggesting you start with this near-to-the-end-of-series one. Though I think it would work as a standalone, you’d miss out on so much of the backstory and that would be such a shame.

That’s the problem when I am a relatively new romance reader, I have missed so much.
