Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!

Caitlyn: A Stain on the Soul by Elizabeth Davies #Review #Historical #Paranormal #Series #BlogTour

My Review:

This is the second book in this historical and paranormal intrigue and, whilst this book will work as a standalone, I think the reader will get greater enjoyment from it by reading the first story, Three Bloody Pieces, first. The story of Caitlyn continues on some twenty years after the previous book ended, with her still be-spelled as a witch’s familiar working on the behalf of that witch as a spy in the royal court around the time of William the Conqueror. So much of the story is based on what are believed to be true events from that time that it adds to the mystique of the era and makes an enthralling read. Caitlyn’s adventures continue with added peril and potential romance as she travels back to her homeland. She is compelled to do the witch’s bidding despite her own wishes and I really hope she manages to escape this cursed existence in the next book! The story is full of witchcraft, mystery and danger with plenty of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages till you reach the finale. Again many of the issues from this story are resolved in this book but the cliffhanger ending whets your appetite to continue on with the series and discover what happens next.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Resigned to another lifetime of being a witch’s familiar, Caitlyn has found a degree of peace in her role as the Duke of Normandy’s protector and spy.

But that peace is shattered when she returns to her native land only to come face-to-face with her past, and fall in love with a man who she desperately hopes will become her future.
