Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!
Series: Point Beacon #1
Title: How to Seduce a Bad Bay
Author: Traci Douglass
Publisher: Entangled Bliss, Entangled Publishing
Published: January 14th, 2019
This is a cute contemporary romance where Melody Bryant, the girl next door, is the younger sister of his best friend and so totally off limits . . . . if only they weren’t so attracted to each other! He is Army veteran, Adam Foster, and he turned her down eight years ago before signing up but now he’s back in town, as hot as ever and just the person she needs to help her ruin her reputation as the prim and proper librarian who never lets her hair down . . . .
It is a fun read, with laugh out loud incidents as he continues to try to keep barriers between them but is oh so tempted! He is torn between his need to help her, his determination not to ruin his friendship with her brother and his own conscience where he just doesn’t believe himself to be “good enough” for her. Melody, however, has her own agenda – and that includes no longer being a virgin when she turns twenty-five in just five weeks time . . . and her determination to enlist the help of Adam in achieving her goal. When she asks Adam for help with men, he just has to agree to date her to help protect his friend’s sister – doesn’t he?
Get ready for temptation, resistance, dilemmas, intrigue and romance in this fun read which I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who enjoys reading contemporary, second chance romances with a side helping of humour and a brother/best friend on the side lines! It is the first book in a new series and I’m now looking forward to reading more about Point Beacon in future.
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley. I have chosen to read it and this is my honest review after doing so.
Melody Bryant has heard it all before. Sure, she’s the epitome of the stereotype for a librarian. Loves order. Loves rules and deadlines. Loves books. But what she doesn’t love is still being a virgin at twenty-four. Unfortunately, the only guy she’s ever been interested in turned her down flat. And then left town. Eight. Years. Ago. Ugh.
Now her birthday is fast approaching and she just can’t take it any longer. She’s finding a guy before her birthday in five weeks or she’s adopting two more cats and fully embracing becoming “the crazy cat lady.”
But when her latest date ends in epic failure–everyone thinks of her as the “proper librarian,” she realizes what she needs is to ruin her reputation. And she knows the perfect guy to help her: the baddest bad boy in town. This Army vet won’t know what hit him…
