Harlequin Recommends – July 2019 Review Tour . . . Part One!

Title: Steel Resolve
Author: B.J. Daniels
Genre: Romance
Harlequin Imprint: Intrigue

Sometimes you can go home again….

It’s just not always safe…  Mary Cardwell Savage never meant to send that letter to her ex, Chase Steele. How could she know her words would bring the gorgeous cowboy back to Big Sky, Montana—with an unstable and dangerous stalker following close behind? Now Chase wants to prove that their love deserves a second chance. And this time, nothing will keep him from his heart’s desire…not even a killer.
My Review
This is an action packed, suspense filled small town story with several different threads skilfully interwoven to create a superb tapestry of events, characters and story.
Chase Steele is returning to Big Sky, Montana but is unaware that he’s closely followed by someone who is stalking him. He’s had enough of big city living and is returning soon after receiving a letter from the woman he loved but left behind, Mary Cardwell Savage. He broke her heart and his own when he left but now she has written to say she has something that his recently deceased Mum has left for him. Is this a second chance for this High School sweethearts or will fate force them apart again?
The second chance romance is only part of this story which is packed with intrigue, deceit and double crossing danger. There’s murderers, rustlers, secrets and so much more in this well paced page turner. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and have no hesitation in highly recommending it.
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Title: The Greek’s Pregnant Cinderella
Author: Michelle Smart
Genre: Romance
Harlequin Imprint: Presents
“You will go to the ball.” And be seduced by a billionaire…
Hotel maid Tabitha is stunned to be gifted a ticket to an elite ball hosted by Greek tycoon Giannis Basinas. It’s meant to be a night of pure luxury. But this untouched Cinderella ends up in Giannis’s bed—utterly pleasured! Making a hasty morning exit out the window, Tabitha expects to return to her ordinary life. Until she discovers her midnight mischief had nine-month consequences!
My Review:
A guest in the hotel where Tabitha works as a maid proves to be her fairy godmother in this delightful romance, enabling this caring young lady to go to the luxurious, expensive ball. She never expected the hotel owner, Giannis Basinas to be captivated by her but this fairy tale romance has Tabitha escaping from his room the next morning to get ready for work again. However, her night of bliss with Giannis means this Cinderella is now pregnant . . . . What should she do now?
This is a lovely, heartwarming romance with well developed characters and a definitely fairytale theme to it. It really is a contemporary reworking of the original story of Cinderella. Tabitha had loving parents but her Mum died and father remarried . . . . and her evil stepmother had two daughters who are older than Tabitha. There are lots of references that link to the original story but enough twists to make it a story in its own right – ideal for when you want an easy, relaxing read!
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.
Michelle Smart is a Publishers Weekly bestselling author with a slight-to-severe coffee addiction. A book worm since birth, Michelle can usually be found hiding behind a paperback, or if it’s an author she really loves, a hardback.
Michelle lives in rural Northamptonshire in England with her husband and two young Smarties. When not reading or pretending to do the housework she loves nothing more than creating worlds of her own. Preferably with lots of coffee on tap.
