Instructions for Falling in Love Again by Lucy Mitchell #Review #RomCom #BlogTour

What would you do if your late husband left you a list of instructions on how to fall in love with someone else?

Pippa Browning is faced with this exact dilemma, three years after the death of her husband, Dan.

Buried at the bottom of a drawer are a collection of notebooks full of Dan’s advice on how to live without him.

Pippa’s notebook is red and contains his instructions on how to fall in love again.

But Dan doesn’t just want Pippa to fall in love with anyone – Dan’s crazy suggestion is that Pippa should date his handsome friend, Mikey Stenton, a known thrill-seeking ladies’ man.

Reluctant to follow Dan’s advice, Pippa enters the world of dating. She embarks on a humorous journey of self-discovery, with the help of her children and two best friends.

It isn’t long before Pippa is finding it hard to ignore Dan’s instructions and Mikey Stenton.

Is Mikey really the man that everyone thinks him to be? Or was Dan right, and Mikey’s simply been misunderstood?

A heart-warming romantic comedy about motherhood, friendship and finding love, the second time around.

My Review:

This is a heartwarming family story with families coming to terms with the loss of a loved one. Dan Browning had cancer and knew he was losing the battle to live so wrote notebooks with instructions for each of his three children, his wife and his best friend. Reading those messages from him are both poignant and inspirational.
His instructions to his wife, Pippa, are to encourage her to fall in love again – and he even suggests who she should fall for! Naturally she’s convinced he’s wrong, especially because of the reputation the gentleman concerned has as a love ’em and leave ’em ladies man. However, she’s unaware that he also left a notebook to his friend – with instructions guiding him to help make Pippa fall in love with him! Is Dan right? Will they fall in love with each other? You’ll just have to read it to discover for yourself.
There’s plenty of drama around with three boisterous young children around, especially as one is a rebellious sixteen year old! Can Pippa follow Dan’s instructions and make the changes to herself and their lives?
When life changes for Mikey, he has several dramatic events which make him re-evaluate his life, his attitudes and his priorities. He doesn’t believe he’s good enough for Pippa but has loved her from afar for years. Could following Dan’s instructions help him woo her – or will other obstacles from his past relationships get in the way?
This story is filled with fun, drama and love. It is a heartwarming story about families, supportive friends, fresh starts and finding love again. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and have no hesitation in highly recommending it!
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so.

Definitely my pleasure, such a thoughtful and inspirational story with lots of love and humour as well despite the original circumstances which triggered the writing of the instructions.
