The Lord’s Inconvenient Vow by Lara Temple

‘I have a favour to ask…

I want you to marry me.’

Part of The Sinful Sinclairs. Samantha Sinclair was always Lord Edgerton’s complete opposite. But as Edge meets Sam again in Egypt, it’s clear the years have changed her as much as him. So when she blurts out an impulsive, convenient proposal, Edge’s protective urge compels him to accept. Is it possible for two such different people to be together and find the happiness they both deserve?

My Review

This is a very different regency romance as the heroine isn’t a sheltered young lady, she’s an adventurous, determined and opinionated young lady who has travelled to Egypt with her family, exploring the archaeological sites with them. Initially these explorations  included her brothers and Lord Edward Edgerton – who she nicknamed Edge. Edge was always concerned with her keeping safe but it wasn’t until she was almost eighteen and she found out he planned to marry on his return to London, that she discovered her feelings for him were definitely not brotherly!

Eight years later they’re both in Egypt again. During that time both have married other people but both their spouses died, so now they’re single. When Sam proposes they wed each other, she’s surprised and delighted when he agrees. That’s the start of this historical romantic adventure as they explore their feelings, search for his missing brother and learn that honesty really is the best policy as secrets, revelations and events from their marriages all impact on their attitudes and behaviour. It is a heartwarming story and a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in highly recommending to anyone who enjoys reading historical romance.

i requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Author Bio –

Lara Temple writes regency romances about complex individuals who give no quarter but do so with plenty of passion.

After moving around the world as a financial analyst she returned to her childhood love of making up stories, and was surprised to discover that other people don’t mind reading them.

She lives with her husband, two children, and Lord Oscar the pooch who are all very forgiving about her taking over the kitchen table when she’s writing.
