Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!
If you were given the chance to become a powerful sorceress, would you leave behind everything you thought you knew?
When Addison is offered the position of her dreams through a mysterious phone call, she rises to the occasion and moves to the Florida Keys to a mansion called Paradise House. Footsteps from playful ghosts, a room of killer dolls, and an all too intelligent owl lead her to the mysteries that lie within the walls, to reveal the true reason behind her invitation. When dark forces get a hold of her and her patient, Addison is left with no choice but to take extreme measures to protect the ones she loves. Will Addison be able to acquire the necessary skills fast enough in order to protect her patient, and defeat the evil entities that thrive in the mansion?
What a spooky read this turned out to be – and I actually read it on October 31st! It starts it’s a Reaper breaking the rules and being punished, then there’s a nurse, Addison, seeking a job who is contacted and offered a position as carer for an elderly gentleman living in a mansion in the Florida Keys. Her patient is being cared for by his son but he doesn’t get up, only takes medication morning and evening, spends most of his time sleeping…..
That mansion turns out to be totally weird, mysterious and strange. The mansion has fantastic collections of dolls and marionettes, a huge library of magical tomes and a child keeps popping up then disappearing. There’s also someone calling Addison’s name but their location keeps changing as she tries to find them. As Addison endeavours to discover just what is going on and to keep her patient safe, she’s drawn into a magical mystery with life threatening consequences and a desperate need to learn new skills quickly!
This is the first book in a new series and is a fascinating paranormal escapade involving witchcraft, magic, demons, reapers and more. It is a story full of secrets to be revealed , evil to be thwarted and family to be discovered. It is a page turner and was a spellbinding Hallowe’en read! If you enjoy surprising paranormal adventures with strong spooky overtones, make sure to check out this book!
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.
