My Review:

This story has betrayal, drama, work issues, and a faux relationship to help both people . . . or will it? It has some great characters, explores different attitudes and reactions and takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster journey through its pages. There are times when it will put a huge smile on your face and other when it is heartbreaking. It also has plenty of laugh out loud moments and drama to keep you turning the pages.

Laurie has three really good friends who help support and advise her through the dramatic break up of her long term relationship with the man she’s been with since they met at college. She thought they were about to start trying for a family, but instead he’s left her for someone else. It wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t both work for the same office . . . . That’s when getting stuck in a lift with someone who has the reputation of being a playboy has unexpected consequences – they decide to pretend to be together – that’ll certainly get the tongues wagging! As their fake romance gains credibility, things get complicated and Laurie discovers that office gossip really isn’t always completely true . . . . and that pretending can have dangerous consequences!

This is a fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who is looking for a contemporary romantic comedy to lighten their day! I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so.

If faking love is this easy… how do you know when it’s real?

The brand new novel from Sunday Times bestselling author Mhairi McFarlane

Laurie and Jamie have the perfect office romance
(They set the rules via email)

Everyone can see they’re head over heels
(They staged the photos)

This must be true love
(They’re faking it)

When Laurie is dumped by her partner of eighteen years, she’s blindsided. Not only does she feel humiliated, they still have to work together.

So when she gets stuck in the lift with handsome colleague Jamie, they hatch a plan to stage the perfect romance. Revenge will be sweet…

But this fauxmance is about to get complicated. You can’t break your heart in a fake relationship – can you?
