What a fun, enchanting, romance this is! Mona Perez is awoken by someone clearing the land near her business and home in Blossom, Texas. She hadn’t expected it to be Ryne Kilpatrick, who she had previously met at a mutual friend’s wedding. The attraction between them had been there but resisted by them both. As he’s going to be building a cabin for himself to live in, becoming her neighbour, will they be able to resist each other? Well, you’ll just have to read it for yourself to find out!
This is a story where previous experiences of love have made both main characters wary of romance. For Mona it was her parents’ marriage breakdown but for Ryne it was tragedy. When Mona discovers that despite their divorce her parents still love each other. When Mona finds out her Mum is resisting getting back together with her Dad because she doesn’t want to leave Mona alone, that’s when Mona decides to ask Ryne to be her fake boyfriend. However, with their attraction to each other already there, could fake become reality?
There’s plenty of fun in this engaging read, it had me laughing out loud at times. The characters are well developed, the plot has plenty of twists to keep you guessing and the community is brilliantly portrayed. This is the third story set in Blossom and it does include many characters from the previous stories but I believe it still works well as a standalone. It is an entertaining read, packed with romance, humour and love.
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.
He rides a Harley and she likes long walks, but the chemistry between them is immediate
Ryne Kilpatrick was once in love, and he thought it was forever. But tragedy struck, and he’s sure he’ll never love again. He’s become a bit of a lone wolf and a player, preferring to casually flirt then walk away.
When the sexy bad boy starts building a cabin next to her boutique in Blossom, Texas, Mona Perez finds it too close for comfort. The attraction sizzles, but she needs to keep her distance as she no longer trusts romance after her parent’s marriage imploded. Mona’s shocked to learn that her mom and dad still love each other, but her mom feels like she can’t recommit because Mona needs her. So Mona plays cupid and comes up with the perfect plan to prove she’s emotionally moved on—she’ll ask Ryne to be her pretend boyfriend.
Mona’s confident she won’t lose her heart, but her pretend boyfriend starts to seem like the real deal. Should she keep up the charade or follow her heart?
