#5*Review for The Cornish Confetti Agency by Daisy James #Contemporary #Series

A gorgeous sun-filled new story from author of the Villa Limoncello series!

I confess to always being on the look out for anything new being released by Daisy James – her books have always been brilliant, funny and great to escape into and this looks like another winner to me. I couldn’t wait to read it! Just look at this fantastic cover:

This story is slightly different to earlier books I’ve read by this author – this time there’s an element of mystery to be solved, too! It is a delightful read that had me enthralled from the very beginning. Lexie Harrington had a nightmare day which ended up with her being sacked and finding her fiancé obviously being unfaithful to her – just weeks before their wedding! Heartbroken, Lexie runs back to Cornwall where her best friend sets her on running the Cornish Confetti Agency whilst its owner is on a mercy mission to help her injured twin. The agency arranges weddings and the next one has the potential mother-in-law from hell determined to interfere with everything! There’s drama, mischief, mayhem and mystery as the wedding weekend unfolds. There is also a handsome reporter – but can he be trusted?

There are so many things in this story to put a huge grin on your face – I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and really happy it is the start of a new series! Lexie discovers much about herself in this story – including acknowledging that she has a habit of being something like an ostrich, hiding her head in the sand when things go wrong. She’s wary of talking through problems or facing up to them but that will all change with the right support, new friendships and lots of fun despite the dramatic wedding party. I can’t recommend this story highly enough, with a gorgeous setting, lots of great characters and some surprise twists as the story progresses. This is definitely another winner as far as I’m concerned!

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and finding it to be a fascinating read.

Welcome to The Cornish Confetti Agency!

When the grand finale of Lexie Harrington’s catwalk show ends with a disastrous twist on the ‘ice bucket challenge’, she was expecting her highly-strung boss to fire her on the spot. What she wasn’t expecting was to bump into her fiancé cosied up with an attractive blonde in the restaurant opposite their apartment!

Desperate to escape her heartbreak, Lexie flees to her childhood home of St Ives to hold the fort at The Cornish Confetti Agency for her best friend Freya, leader of the yummy mummy network and firm believer in ‘happily ever afters’. Little did she know that delivering a Caribbean-themed wedding in sunny Cornwall would rival the fashion industry for drama, tantrums and mysterious goings on.

Who is responsible for dousing the bridesmaid’s dress with tomato ketchup? Or hiding the bride’s beloved Jimmy Choos? Or attaching googly eyes to everything in sight?

The perfect Cornish wedding? Is there such a thing for The Cornish Confetti Agency?

Daisy James is a Yorkshire girl transplanted to the north east of England. She loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plotlines. When not scribbling away in her peppermint-and-green summerhouse (garden shed), she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter.
