My Review:
Now this was a read absolutely packed with surprises and I even had another when I came to write my review of it when I discovered it is the first book in a new series – what a great start this proved to be! After the person who murdered her husband was found not guilty thanks to the actions of a lawyer and corrupt police officer, Sally Mellors has been planning her revenge. She’s an artist and not your normal idea of a determined killer, indeed most folks would say she wouldn’t hurt a fly. Now that may be true normally but she’s also committed to giving her husband justice and when she realises another woman has been widowed in a similar manner but involving the son of her husband’s killer she enlists her to the plot. As the ladies explore the area, research everything and get equipped ready to enable their plans to be brought to fruition they don’t realise they are actually being watched as they’re impinging on the plans of two other men . . . . two men who are on a mission that Sally is interfering with . . .
I’m so glad there are going to be more books involving these characters! Sally is one feisty, determined, intelligent and ruthless woman – despite how funny and warm hearted others assume her to be. Revenge is definitely a dish best served cold for her and she definitely tries to make the punishments she inflict reflect the crimes her victims committed. This is calculated multiple murders, well planned, well resourced and designed to baffle the police. Will they get away with it? What will the two observers do? You’ll just have to read it for yourself to find out!
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it. Now I can’t wait to read any future books in this series!
