My Review:

This is another superb story by one of my favourite go-to authors and, as usual, I totally loved reading it! I can’t recommend Trevor’s books highly enough, if I could give this more than 5* I definitely would. It is a tasty treat, with delicious, mouth watering food to tempt you and whet your appetite . . . . It is a fantastic tour of pre-lockdown northern Italy with some places I’ve visited and others that I now hope to get to see at some point in the future.

The characters are well developed, brought vividly to life within the pages of the story, with more than one romance involved but only one I really wasn’t sure would work out until very near the end of the book. It is a journey through beautiful countryside and a journey of self discovery as it gives opportunities for considering options, reflecting on choices made and the chance for a fresh start for several of the characters. There are a couple of Hollywood A-lister stars, the decidedly eccentric Erasmus and so many other great characters! It feels like you’ve been invited along to a tour of the hidden gems in the area, seeing places, meeting people and dining out in superb locations where not only the food is sublime but so is everything associated with it, including the opportunity for romance. You even have a tour guide on hand sharing some of the history of the area!

This is a heartwarming romance, an enthralling story to escape into and of course, being a book by TA Williams, there is the requisite adorable black labrador creating mischief and swimming in the pool! If you fancy a touch of Hollywood, mixed with the tastes and sights of Northern Italy, superbly blended into a fantastic read, grab yourself a copy of this brilliant book – I really can’t recommend it highly enough!

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying it from cover to cover.

Up for a dream promotion, Emma won’t let anything get in her way – not even love.

Working for a major Hollywood film company isn’t all glitz and glam. But when Emma gets sent to tour around Italy to scout the perfect location for a new blockbuster movie, she’s not going to complain. Especially when it could make or break her career…

Historical adviser for the project Mark is a distraction that Emma does not need. As they explore the beauty of Italy, Emma starts to fall for the mysterious Mark, and soon finds herself torn between her job and her heart.

From the wild, northern mountains of Piedmont, down the vibrant coast of Cinque Terre and through the rolling hills of Tuscany, Emma’s journey becomes one of self-discovery as she questions her priorities in life.

About T.A. Williams

I’m a man. And a pretty old man as well. I did languages at university a long time ago and then lived and worked in France and Switzerland before going to Italy for seven years as a teacher of English. My Italian wife and I then came back to the UK with our little daughter (now long-since grown up) where I ran a big English language school for many years. We now live in a sleepy little village in Devonshire. I’ve been writing almost all my life but it was only seven years ago that I finally managed to find a publisher who liked my work enough to offer me my first contract.

The fact that I am now writing romantic comedy is something I still find hard to explain. My early books were thrillers and historical novels. Maybe it’s because there are so many horrible things happening in the world today that I feel I need to do my best to provide something to cheer my readers up. My books provide escapism to some gorgeous locations and, as a writer, I obviously have to go there in person and check them out first. I love my job…
