#Interview with Cecilia Fyre, author of Heart and the City #Contemporary #Romance #LoveMedicine #BlogTour

Where did you get the inspiration for the book/series?

I love New York, and I always wanted to write about it. The main character, Lea, is a doctor from London who moves to New York. I’m a fan of medical dramas, especially when they feature love stories, so I took a little bit of inspiration from that. It was quite easy to imagine what it’s like moving from London to Manhattan. I’ve been to New York many times, and while I don’t always love it there, I know that in some parallel universe another version of me lives there!

What is your writing process?

I used to be a pantser, and I was when I wrote the first drafts of these novellas. I’ve come a long way as a writer since then, and when I was confident I could rewrite these stories with better structure I did. I’ve always done a lot of research for my stories, and I can go down a rabbit hole and disappear for days. Most of that never makes it into the books but I’m always happy I did it anyway because I learn so much.

Do you write using pen and paper or on a computer?

Again, that’s massively changed. I used to do the pen and paper thing, also because it allows you to write anywhere and at any time. It helped me slow down and formulate my ideas better, especially before I really learned how to plot. Now, I write right into Word, but I still print out several versions of my MS when I edit.

Who is your favourite character out of your stories and why?

I think it must be Lea. She’s a bit of a chaotic person, which I am not. But she’s also intellectual and analytical and sometimes a bit cool. I’m all those too. She’s also quite introverted, and at the time I wrote the novellas it was helpful for me to write someone I shared traits with because I knew how she’d react. I spent five years with this story, on and off, so I’ve come to really care for all those people, but her especially.

If you were a character in your story, which would you like to be?

I think I’d be Lea’s friend Siobhan, who we don’t meet until Book 2. She’s really kind and a good person, but she doesn’t take any nonsense from anyone. I’d like to be more like her!

Thank you so much for answering my questions!

Lea tries to resist temptation, but when he comes to her for help dealing with his steadily worsening migraine she can’t turn away from his plight.

As Ricco’s health takes a turn for the worse, their lives become more and more entwined. But can their growing attraction withstand the strain of his ill health, and can he let Lea be more than just his doctor?

Author Bio –

Cecilia Fyre is the pen name of a romance author trying out something new.

She likes sunny, crisp autumn days. Cups of hot cocoa with little marshmallows floating on top. The roaring of the sea. Laughing until your face hurts. The silence when you curl up with a good book.

Her stories are about people. Some of them are strange, some think they’re boring. They all have secrets, they’re all scared sometimes. Cecilia writes about life, about love. About how hard it is to do it right. Usually, there’s a happy ending, or at least there might be one, someday.

But life’s not all sunshine and roses, and that’s why Cecilia tells her stories.

In the real world, Cecilia lives in England.
