My Review:

This is a new series set in the Texan town of Last Stand, complete with some of the characters from other stories set in this small town but you don’t need to have read them to appreciate and enjoy this one!

The Burleson family are cattle ranchers and the spread is run by Cash, a former bull rider and his sister, Annie, who is a single Mum to AJ who has a life threatening kidney disease. When these three go to the local fair, AJ chooses to have a massage treatment given by Jade Mitchel. As she gives this lovely lad his massage she gets a very weird sensation and realises that a recent accident has activated a psychic ability, something she knows little about despite her grandmother having the same innate ability. The massage really helps AJ and Jade agrees to treat him at home as part of his therapy. This brings her close to the whole family and a relationship develops between Cash and Jade. However, how will he react if she tells him about her gift? Will he believe and support her or will it put an end to their romance?

This is a moving story of an ill child, a betrayed family and someone new to their psychic ability. It is a delightful read and I look forward to learning more about the Burlesons and returning to Last Stand, Texas again in the future to catch up on events there!

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and finding it a lovely story to escape into.

Can the power of her love heal his wounded heart?

Jade Mitchell’s life changes forever when a concussion activates “the gift”—a psychic ability passed down from her grandmother. As a massage therapist with a thriving practice, Jade needs to protect her professional reputation in her small Texas town. She’s wary of her new talent, but also wants to use it to help her friends and neighbors.

Cash Burleson, a no-nonsense former bull rider, now runs his family’s successful cattle ranch. With no children of his own, Cash treasures his young nephew, AJ, who is battling serious kidney disease. But when Jade’s massage services are prescribed, Cash is leery. He’s used to being guided by facts and logic, not lavender and meditation music.

As Jade and Cash are drawn closer, the search heats up for a kidney donor. Jade knows she needs to use her gift to save AJ, but she risks outing her secret in the process. Will she lose Cash’s trust, or can she count on him to see what’s truly in her heart?
