My Review:

This is a lovely addition to this series set in the Australian outback community of Wirralong. This time it involves two newcomers to the area – Maeve McGill, a midwife who is coming to work in the clinic after being recommended to do so by her friend who lives in Wirralong and is due to give birth soon. She’s recovering from being dumped by her fiancé of two years who was apparently using her as a nanny for his children until he could get back together with his ex-wife. She’s determined to give men the miss in her new job but maybe the new doctor will change her mind?

The new doctor is Jace Bronson, another single father who is only due to stay for six months to cover for his friend’s paternity leave. He lost his wife and their unborn son in childbirth and isn’t ready for romance – until he sees the pixie like Maeve! Can he resist temptation? Would Maeve even give him a chance? Can he protect his delightful three year old daughter from falling for the charming Maeve, too? Both are trying to resist but will romance help heal their past and keep them together in future?

What a tragic past these two had but their romance is fraught with assumptions, misunderstandings and magnetic attraction as well as fears for the future. It is a story involving new lives, medical emergencies, a fantastic community and friendship as well as lots and lots of love. This is a heartwarming story, a relaxing read that is delightful to escape into and packed with love. There are great characters, both old and young, including several children and two new births. Those sunsets sound fabulous out on Maeve’s farm! I really enjoyed reading this and look forward to reading more books in this series and other books by this author in future.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Synopsis:

She moved to the outback to heal her heart, never expecting to fall in love.

Midwife Maeve McGill can deliver a baby with no complications, but finding love isn’t that easy. After falling for and being dumped by a doctor who only wanted her as a glorified nanny for his kids, she left her job for a position at a clinic in Wirralong. Maeve is determined to embrace her new life with the help of her friend, Lacey. Men are absolutely off the menu.

Doctor Jace Bronson is everything Maeve’s last boyfriend wasn’t. He’s big—a big chest to lean on with a big heart and a crazy big smile she can’t resist. But Jace is a father and his job is temporary, so he and Maeve vow to keep their relationship strictly professional. Maeve doesn’t want to risk the heartbreak, and Jace wants to protect his daughter from falling under Maeve’s warm and caring spell—the way he has.

They had good intentions, but love, chemistry and the magic of Wirralong have a way of bringing two wounded souls together.
