My #EarlyReview of The Amish Newcomer by Patrice Lewis #Amish #WitnessProtection #Romance

Title: The Amish Newcomer

Author: Patrice Lewis

Publisher: Harlequin – Romance (U.S. & Canada), Love Inspired

My Review:

This is a heartwarming story with a television journalist, Leah Porte, being placed with an Amish family whilst in witness protection after accidentally witnessing two gangland murders. She is used to all the gadgets and trappings of her high profile life so learning how to do things without using electricity and modern conveniences is something of a culture shock for her. However, it is a challenge she willingly faces, endeavouring to help the family who were kind enough to take her in and help protect her. Little did she realise just how much this would change her as she discovers what family life is like in this close knit community.

This story is a lovely read and it was great to learn more about Amish communities alongside Leah. The incorporated explanations are seamlessly integrated into the story but are also so informative and help bring the situations and events to life in the imagination of the reader. The dilemmas faced by Leah and Isaac are showcased and explored through the lovely story. The family life is portrayed, their beliefs showcased but not in an indoctrinating manner, just as part of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this beautiful, inspirational story and recommend it to anyone who enjoys or wishes to try reading an Amish romance.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so.
