Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!
Happy Book Birthday to this lovely contemporary romance with great characters – both canine and human – and plenty of love, too. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!
Title: Falling in Puppy Love
Authors: Sarah Fischer and Kelsey McKnight
Publisher: Tule Publishing
Published: 10th September, 2020
Aiden Hughes has returned to Birdsong to look after his aunt and to reconsider his options after being fired from his job as an investigative reporter because of what he uncovered. Now he’s working on the small town newspaper, doing features on some of the townsfolk who are key participants in the town’s festival. His first interviewee is Emily McLane, who runs an animal rescue centre, and is currently caring for five rescued dogs as well as her own. Aiden has never had much to do with dogs before but he can’t resist the temptation to work with Emily more in future, helping set up a website for her and taking photographs of the dogs – as well as writing the article for the paper. As the two work together, their attraction grows. However, she’s been hurt by someone leaving before and they both know he’s looking to return to the city when he finds a new job. . . . . will their love have a chance to grow or will they have to part rather than follow their heart?
It is delightful to escape into Birdsong, getting to know some of the characters there and following events. Aiden’s move has him totally reevaluating his life, dreams and expectations. It is a heartwarming story with great canine and human characters – I was so happy when Aiden came back with an unexpected plan for one of the dogs! These ladies write enchanting stories of people you can believe in and I have no hesitation in highly recommending this story to anyone looking for a light, fun, entertaining romance.
Thanks to Tule Publishing for a copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.
He’s used to stories with no happy ending…
Aiden Hughes never expected to return to Birdsong, but after a scandal rocked his professional world the former hard-hitting reporter needs a plan B. Covering local events for the small town newspaper after chasing down national news is a huge step backwards. But when he interviews the founder of a dog rescue whose heart is bigger than New York City, he wonders if there’s more to life than his byline in a prestigious paper.
Emily McLane has always had a sweet spot for animals. She plans an ambitious adoption festival to fund the expansion of her beloved dog rescue, but she needs publicity. When a former local boy offers to help her design a promotion, she finds herself falling in love for the first time.
They both have big dreams, but Aiden’s will take him far from Birdsong. Will they follow their hearts or are they only falling in puppy love?
