Title: To Marry a Texas Cowboy
Series: Wishing Texas #4
Author: Julie Benson
Publisher: Tule Publishing
Published: September 28th, 2020
This is a lovely addition to this series and features Zane Logan, who was brought up in Wishing, Texas, by his grandparents after his parents’ divorce and McKenna Stinson, who works as the assistant to Zane’s grandmother, helping manage her wedding planning business. Zane has returned to Wishing to help look out for his gran when she needs surgery and plans to look out for her business interests, too. Little did either of them realise just what was afoot but maybe the wishing well the town is famous for can help both of them overcome the trauma of their different upbringings and get them to give love a chance?
The instant antagonism, joking male bets, friendships, bridesmaidzillas, etc all have roles to play in this delightful contemporary romance. His friends can all see exactly what is happening from the start but, as usual, the couple just don’t realise things until much later. It is a story with a strong sense of community, delightful characters, new friendships, some females who assume their looks will make them irresistible and, of course, a heartwarming romance. When arguments threaten to spoil an evening out, who’d think the chief of police would lock them in the police station to sort out their differences! This story is filled with such fun incidents, it is a engaging story to escape into and one to put a smile on your face at some of the antics – I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!
Thanks to Tule Publishing for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.
She lives by a set of rules. He aims to break each one.
When Zane Logan returns to Wishing, Texas, he’s shocked to learn that his grandmother has hired an assistant to manage her wedding planning business as she heals from surgery. With five marriages between his parents, just the thought of weddings breaks him out in hives. To look out for his grandmother’s financial interests, Zane takes charge. He doesn’t trust easily, especially when the assistant is prettier than a Texas spring day.
Childhood taught McKenna Stinson an important rule: never count on anyone but yourself. She dreams of working hard to have her own business. Stepping in for a successful wedding planner in a small town known for big weddings is the perfect opportunity…until her employer’s grandson announces he’s the new boss. He’s cynical about love and knows nothing about weddings—so why is she falling for him?
Even worse, Zane’s so hot McKenna has to make up two new rules: don’t date a man more attractive than you and never, ever, date a man you work with.
