Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!
Christmas has arrived…
And she’s spending it with her boss!
New Yorker Erin is intrigued when Hugo Harrington asks for her help on a hotel renovation in London, just weeks before Christmas! But Erin soon discovers how personal this project is to her brooding boss. Watching him wrestle with the memories of his past uncovers a side to Hugo she’s never seen. And then a stolen snowbound kiss changes everything…
Thank you to the publishers for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.
This is a delightful, contemporary and festive romance between event organiser, Erin, and her boss, billionaire, hotel owning Hugo Harrington. Erin is a widow with a young son and Hugo has paid for not only her but also her young son and her mother to travel from their home to stay in London whilst she organises a Christmas Eve celebration party and the opening of his latest hotel – one that is rundown but used to belong to his family and he has reacquired and is restoring.
This is a lovely story to escape into, especially as the stoical billionaire unwittingly learns to let down his personal barriers and his employee learns to live and love again. It is a story full of family drama as Hugo revisits happy memories of the Hotel when his father was alive and tries to reconnect with his younger siblings after a traumatic event exiled him from their lives. It is a story of both main characters coming to terms and making their peace with their past and look on the actions of people they loved then in a new light. It is a heartwarming romance and fun festive read.
