Intriguing Historical Romance – The Warrior’s Innocent Captive by Ella Matthews

My Review:

This is an action packed historical romance starting in the winter of 1331 at the wedding celebrations of Linota Leofric’s brother. It is there that Erik Ward first sees and meets her. He’s the steward to the Earl of Borwyn and is tasked with escorting her and her older sister to their new home. He, however, has a dilemma as he has just discovered that his missing sister is now dead but she had a daughter who is being held hostage to make him betray his liege. With his young niece and his new love both in danger, he’s facing impossible choices and choices that will impact on all their lives.

This is a great read, with well developed characters, plenty of intrigue, suspense and romance. It is well paced, engaging and entertaining. If you enjoy reading stories with flawed heroes determined to do right but struggling to protect all they care for and heroines who prove more resilient and feisty than their contemporaries expect you’ll definitely enjoy this book!

Thank you for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.

But Erik has a secret plan to reunite his family – now he’s forced to choose between that and his growing feelings for Linota…

Author Bio –

Ella Matthews lives and works in beautiful South Wales. When not thinking about handsome heroes she can be found walking along the coast with her husband and their two children (probably still thinking about heroes but at least pretending to be interested in everyone else).
