Haileybrook, a beautiful village in the peaceful Cotswolds countryside, is most people’s idea of heaven on earth.
Born and raised in this small slice of paradise, Elle Bea can’t wait to leave.
It should be easy, but every time she packs her bags for exotic adventures, old loves and loyalties pull her back.
Will Elle be forced to forget her dreams of far-flung places and epic romance, or can she grab one last chance to have it all?
An uplifting, romantic story about friends, family and the relationships that make
This is a delightful, warm-hearted romance, mostly set in the idyllic but realistic village of Haileybrook in the Cotswolds. It is here that Elle Bea grew up and was desperate to leave but despite her plans, fate seems determined to intervene and thwart her!
Elle plans to be a journalist and, after successfully completing her degree at university, is excitedly anticipating the world tour she’s going on with her more outgoing best friend, Serena. Serena is a brilliant friend, supportive, encouraging and giving Elle much needed confidence and inspiring her to do more – the total antithesis of Elle’s Mum! This is the story of Elle’s relationships with her somewhat dysfunctional family and other people in the small community – from her some time boyfriend Adam, to her protector and friend, Toby and his family. Toby’s gran is the daunting Mrs Cooper, an elderly matriarch who is never reticent at sharing her opinion but is always supportive of her family and Elle. Much of the events are shared via the email exchanges between Elle and someone she briefly met in the University library, Zach. Zach is living with his girlfriend in the States and the email exchanges share aspects of their lives, personalities and experiences.
This is a lovely read that keeps you guessing, you’re really not quite sure how things will work out until the fantastic finale. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and absolutely loved that ending! I can’t recommend this highly enough and look forward to reading more by this talented author in future.
Thank you for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.
