Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!

Farm life, friendships and mystery – A Body by the Henhouse by Kate Wells – great addition to this series!

The time for celebrations is over…

My Review:

So good to visit the Malvern Farm once more
With Jude Gray looking for new options to explore.
A hen party coming to stay on the farm,
Should be fun, not cause any harm.

Thank goodness some of the hens are vets, too,
When Jude finds what her sheep are going through.
But with sheep needing urgent care
Just who'd harm them - why would they dare?

Suspicions mount against a neighbour who
Seems determined to be grumpy whatever Jude may do.
Would he resort to causing her animals harm
Should she accuse or stay resolutely calm?

When one of the hen party seemingly disappears
Most have fears and one is in tears.
The groom and a friend come to join the search, too,
Or so they claim, but is it true?

With the support of her friend, Jude is on the case,
Helping Detective Inspector Binnie Khatri, giving her space.
The clues don't add up, there's another mystery
Maybe it is something from the friend's history?

With great characters, suspense and farm life, too,
Special sheep, and Sebbie's fourth birthday do,
Farm life continues whilst the case goes on
Jude really can't wait for the hen party to be gone!

With families, friendship, neighbours and more
This is a countryside case that's intriguing to explore.
The ending is great, making me want to discover
Could this be a fresh start for Jade to find a lover?

For my copy of this book I say thank you
As I share with you this, my honest review

Synopsis:

Jude Gray’s farm is going from strength to strength, and even though her grumpy neighbour has concerns about the new campsite in the lower field, she is undeterred.

When a hen party arrives for a weekend away, she does her best to cater for their celebrations. But with a sheep needing urgent care – an accidental mishap or something more nefarious? – she finds herself consulting the group, which coincidentally contains four vets.

When one of the hens goes missing, it becomes clear there are more sinister forces at play, and someone is targeting her farm. With the help of close friend Detective Inspector Binnie Khatri, Jude once again dons her amateur sleuthing hat.

They uncover a web of deceit, affairs and rivalries, but will they find the perpetrator before events turn murderous?
