Series: Hot Aussie Knights #4
Title: Burning Love
Author: Trish Morey
Publisher: Holiday, Tule Publishing
Published: June 12th, 2017
This is the fourth book in the series about the firefighting Knights and, as the series title shows, it is set in Australia and the whole story is hot!
This story concerns Caleb Knight, whose first marriage ended in divorce after his ex wife proclaimed he was more married to his job than to her. For almost a year now he’s had a fling with the artist Ava Mattiske – but the pair are keeping it secret so no one but them knows about it. They also agreed that it isn’t a relationship, though after all this time it sometimes feels like one. She’s determined not to get trapped in a relationship after her experiences after reaching the age of sixteen so is now getting skittish about what’ll happen next for the pair of them. . . . .
This is a moving story and a great addition to the series. It explores some very dark issues and is a story about learning to trust someone, daring to love them rather than trying to run away. The background to Ava is slowly revealed and it is one you hope no-one should grow up experiencing (not saying any more, don’t want to give away any spoilers!). With art, posing, fires and danger as well as steamy interludes, this is an action packed story by a talented author and, like the other titles in the series, is a thoroughly enjoyable read.
I am very happy to say that I requested and was gifted a copy of this novel via NetGalley; this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.
Caleb Knight’s ex accused him of being married to his firefighter job, and maybe she was right. He’s given up looking for happy ever after and finds what he needs between Ava’s scorching sheets. But lately, he’s wondering whether this thing with Ava might become more permanent…
Artist Ava Mattiske‘s ability to trust was shattered long ago. Her steamy fling with Caleb is perfect until he starts talking long-term. She puts on the brakes, but when a bushfire threatens her studio and Caleb is on the scene, Ava realizes that there is one man she can count on… But will it be too late?
