Legends of Persia by Jennifer Macaire

Legends of Persia

When Ashley Riveraine jumped at the chance to travel back in time to meet her hero Alexander the Great, she never thought she would end up staying there…

Following Alexander the Great’s army on its journey across Persia, Ashley is walking the knife edge of history. As a presumed goddess, Ashley is expected to bless crops, make sure battles are won and somehow keep herself out of the history books.

Can Ashley avoid the wrath of the Time Institute while keeping the man she loves alive?

My Review:

This is the second story in this time travelling adventure. In the first book, Ashley is a journalist who is selected for the honour of travelling back in time for just one day to interview Alexander the Great. However, Alexander inadvertently prevents her returning to her own time and she ends up travelling with him and his army.

The story continues in this book as they travel across Persia. As Ashley struggles not to interfere with historical events, there are adventures, encounters, romance and even a love triangle in this engaging historical encounter. With revelations, secrets, attempted murder, pregnancy, a birth and elephants as well as battles and travels, this is a great addition to this intriguing series. I suspect there will be more as this story ends about five years before the death of Alexander – and with Ashley still trapped in that era, unable to return to her own time.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.
