Synopsis:

The girl next door is now the woman he’s falling for.

As her ten year high school reunion approaches, Becca Thompson feels the pinch of not accomplishing enough since graduation. Romance has been an even bigger bust. Longing for more, she decides to organize a fall harvest festival and community fundraiser on her family’s orchard. But Becca gets more than she bargained for when she asks her childhood friend to help. Suddenly her bestie is making her knees weak and her heart flutter.

Jason Fox is dedicated to his veterinarian practice and raising funds to make his dream animal shelter a reality. When he’s sidelined by an injury, he takes a break and returns home to Cupid’s Corner. But from the moment he sees Becca, everything’s different. She’s no longer the young girl he picked apples and pumpkins with—she’s a self-reliant, beautiful woman.

Jason helps Becca with the festival, but the more time they spend together the harder it is to ignore the sparks. Can leaving the friend zone end in love or will it ruin everything?

My Review:

They had been neighbours and best friends throughout their childhood and school years but he’s been away following his dreams and becoming a vet whilst also raising funds to help an animal shelter. When he is forced to return home whilst his broken arm heals the two meet up and discover their feelings are no longer just friendship. Should they give love a chance or will that be too much of a risk as it could ruin their friendship?

This is a lovely, heartwarming friends first romance with a patient, resilient and persistent hero who is prepared to work hard to win her confidence and trust – and he’s going to need to! She’s been hurt before and really doesn’t want to take any chance on spoiling their friendship, it will take a lot to break down her barriers but Jason is determined to be the man who wins her heart! The delightful community of Cupid’s Corner shines through in this delightful read and it was great to catch up on some of the characters from earlier stories in this series. There are plenty of trials and tribulations for this couple to get through before they can have any chance of a HEA together. The two canine characters who star in this story have traits which mirror those of Becca and Jason and are delightful characters in their own rights. With new ideas to explore, reunions to make, a fun festival to organise and a very different proposal to be cast, this is a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in highly recommending to anyone who enjoys easy read, relaxing and entertaining close community friends first romance.

Thank you to Tule Publishing for the copy of this book which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
